My professional life has certainly been one of discovery. I've always been someone who enjoys working with people. This manifested during my first year out of University, when I joined tech startup Rapid7 in Boston. My role in business development taught me how to listen above all else, and determine customer pain points that could be satified (or sometimes not) by a product or tool. One year later, I had the opportunity to step into an operations role on the consulting team, which taught me about process and how to understand and prioritise business goals. My final two years at Rapid7 were spent in project management, where I learned how to tie it all together — business and people.
What came next took me by surprise. I discovered a passion I didn't know I had. Through nothing short of luck, I got a chance to help a food startup launch its new website. Some dabbling in Photoshop and a some witty copywriting opened my personal door into the world of design.
Working for the next year on designing marketing assets and continuing to hone my web design skills led me to take a further step toward product design. I completed DesignLab's UX academy, and learned what it takes to truly understand a user and complete a double-diamond design project.
The rest is history, I've been designing ever since and expanding my toolkit. I love working across the full spectrum of product design, from research through to UI and implementation. I get a ton of energy from working on seriously impactful work, particularly in the sustainability sector.
I hope you enjoy my portfolio, and would love to connect if there's an opportunity to work together or have a chat about design!
Outside of work:
I've been a musician almost my entire life. I grew up playing the violin, and picked up the guitar in my teens. When I can, I love playing open mic nights, recording with friends, or trying to create something new!
